Pauline always had an eye for sexy yet elegant style.

Pauline was born in Kenya, East Africa, and grew up near several clothing resale markets. But what she remembers well were her own mother's 70s fashion styles still hidden away in some closet at home. As a teenager, she was always on the lookout for new and unique fashions - something pretty, or spectacular - and something to complement her petite figure. But having an eye for fashion, and a feeling for fashion trends, meant she always found special items that she knew others could appreciate as well.

After coming to Canada, Pauline set up various websites where she listed her fashion finds. Several items were new; items she was instinctively aware would soon become popular. She also scoured the re-sale markets for vintage or under-appreciated items that she knew others could enjoy as well. Her appreciation of style always allowed her to find valuable attractive items for resale at very reasonable prices.

Another advantage of growing up in Kenya is that Pauline had learned a lot about sewing and clothing design at school. If she couldn't find the fashion items she wanted, she could always design them herself. The basis of her work was always to find the newest trends, colours and textures in materials.

After some experiments, Polywyne, the website was born.

It still lists fashion ideas from others that are bargains for their appeal value, but the primary focus lately has been the design and manufacture of Polywyne leggings, using only the best and latest fabrics from around the world.
